This rug features a delicate pattern created using a technique called "bag weaving," which uses a large number of warp threads. Due to the complex curves, long rush grass is required for the fabric to easily break. The dense warp threads ensure a sturdy, tear-resistant construction. It's made with domestically grown (Kyushu) rush grass. Each strand is thick, with a thick outer skin and fine fibers, making it resilient and durable. Rush grass has natural air purification and humidity control properties. The backing is lined with nonwoven fabric, making it suitable for use on flooring. The rush grass is treated with Aomori cypress for antibacterial and deodorizing properties.
