Fetus, fetus, why do you leap? Are you frightened because you understand your mother's heart?"
◎80 years after the death of original author Kyusaku Yumeno... This bizarre film, a landmark in Japanese film history that was unavailable for rental and commanded a premium price, is finally being re-released on DVD!
◎Dora-Magra (1935), a bizarre work in Japanese literary history that was once considered "impossible to adapt into a live-action film," has been successfully adapted into a masterpiece by internationally acclaimed director Toshio Matsumoto ("Funeral Procession of Roses," "Asura," etc.) for his innovative visual beauty!
◎The original work has been criticized as "a book that will inevitably cause mental disorders at least once after reading it," and even the legendary Seishi Yokomizo said that after reading it, "he became mentally unstable and went on a rampage in the middle of the night."
◎Don't miss the late Katsura Shijaku's incredible performance in his first film!
◎Don't miss the stunning art direction (Kimura Takeo) and cinematography (Suzuki Tatsuo), which perfectly bring to life the incredibly complex worldview!
◎The genius of Yamatoya Tsutomu, who brought out the absurd power of nonsense in the bizarre original, and the logical co-script by Matsumoto Toshio, take this film to a higher level.
◎Selected for the Berlin International Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, and Verona International Film Festival in Italy.
