Because 100% tin is too soft for mechanical processing, each katakuchi/guinomi is handcrafted by artisans in Kanazawa, who then apply gold leaf one by one to complete the set. The luxurious finish is wrapped in washi paper, making them ideal for celebrations and gifts.
