The 413 series is a commuter train that can run on both AC and DC power supplies and was introduced in 1986 during the Japan National Railways era.
In the 1980s, the number of passengers in regional urban areas increased by shortening train formations and operating more frequently.
However, conventional express trains only had two single-leaf doors on either side of the car body, making it difficult to facilitate smooth boarding and alighting during rush hour.
As a result, the express trains' equipment was reused, and the cars were updated to new ones with double-leaf doors and no decks, allowing an increase in commuter trains.
These cars were introduced throughout Japan, but the ones bound for the Hokuriku region were classified as the 413 series and were made to be both AC and DC power supplies, just like the express trains they were converted to.
After the privatization of the Japan National Railways, they were taken over by JR West and mainly ran on the Hokuriku Main Line.
This product is based on the old red paint scheme from when the trains were introduced.
By using the separately sold power unit and N gauge running parts, it can be run as an N gauge model train.
We recommend the TM-14 (20m class A2) power unit, TT-03R running parts set, and PS101CN (PS16HS) [0232] pantograph.
