Swanson Pemflora is a probiotic supplement for women that contains multiple Lactobacillus strains (compared to only two probiotic strains in conventional formulas) to support the oral, gastrointestinal, and vaginal flora. Studies have shown that Lactobacillus strains promote and maintain vaginal health. These strains protect the urinary tract by secreting biosurfactants that help keep tissues clean and healthy. Another strain in this formula, L. plantarum, is commonly found in the oral and gastrointestinal mucosa. Studies have shown that L. plantarum can fight other bacteria and influence gut and systemic immunity. People are increasingly recognizing the connection between gut health and overall health, and probiotics can play a significant role in maintaining both gut and overall health. Pemflora was developed specifically for women's health.
