Answer: You can cut onions, potatoes, bell peppers, carrots, cucumbers, with 2 different size blades.
(2)Question:Can this dice hard vegetables like carrots without the blades getting dull?
Answer: yes it sure can.
(3)Question:Is it strong enough to chop sweet potatoes? Everything I've tried for them ends up bending or breaking.
Answer: Probably could if sliced thin enough, but why chop sweet potatoes? They can be boiled and sliced or mashed.
