Eye Witness"
(released in 1995)
The first album by Eyewitness, based in Tampa, Florida. I play orthodox melodious HR/HM. The band consists of four members, led by Ralph Santora, who graduated from the famous guitar school GIT, Todd Plant (Vo), Steve Hodson (Bass), and Oliver Hanson (Ds). Perhaps because the recording was made after several demos were produced, there are many additional musicians credited, including Paul Prater (Autodrive), Zack Stevens (Savatage, Circle II Circle), and Howard Helm (Zon, Refugee).
The instrumental parts are quite hard, and Todd Plant's singing voice is thick and powerful, so even though it's called Melohar, it has a hot (hot) sound that has nothing to do with the cool and refreshing type. Ralph Santora's technical guitar seems to be the selling point, but I was more impressed by the quality of the songs. My favorites are 4 "All I Wanted", 7 "Can't Stop", and 10 "Arms of Love". The melancholy melody is just wonderful.
UFO, Zeno cover included!
After releasing their second album, they will re-debut under the name Millennium, and I think this album is a must-listen album as it is the starting point for Ralph Santora and Todd Plant.
