* Wire tracking is now possible even inside harnesses, conduits, behind panels, under carpets, upholstery, etc.
*Easy to use: Simply connect the transducer in series to the circuit or wire under test (i.e. circuit/wire with tracers and a flexible probe to find the problem area
* 42 V Ready: for use in new generation vehicles with mixed or single 42 V systems.
* Operates on DC voltage from 6 to 42 volts
* Internal protection against power surges and overloads
* 7" flexible probe allows you to reach wires in crowded areas
* Transmitter and receiver LEDs indicate open or short circuit
conditions
*Adjustable sensitivity for all tracking situations
* No wire piercing required, contactless technology!
Test for a Shorted Wire To test for a shorted wire, you must first disconnect the wire being tested from all connections and power supplies.
Then you need to connect the transmitter mode to the two test leads and turn the transmitter mode switch to the CONT position. If the CONT indicator turns green, there is a short circuit between the wires. If the CONT indicator is not lit, it means that the wire is not shorted or the line resistance exceeds 10 Kom.
Warning: Do not connect the device to a DC voltage greater than 42 volts in all operating modes. Do not use this device on AC power! Replace the battery by removing the locking screws on the back of the transmitter or receiver, remove the battery cover, and replace the battery with a new 9V battery. Close the battery cover using the locking screws.
Attention is very important:
1. After using the device, disconnect the transmitter from the test circuit and set the switch to the off position. Turn the receiver sensitivity control to the "off" position.
2. Do not use or store equipment in high humidity conditions.
3. Do not use the device under high pressure.
Always follow the operating instructions; otherwise, equipment damage or personal injury may occur.
Specification: DC Compatible,
Voltage: up to 42 V
HOW TO USE THE PROBE?
The receiver probe is made from coiled steel and can be bent as needed to achieve
wires in congested or hard-to-reach places. Depending on circuit characteristics and sensitivity settings
the sensor picks up the signal from the wire in different positions. However, for the better
possible range. The receiver sensor tip (black cap) must be perpendicular (90° angle)
to the wire being monitored and either above or below it.
