The curtain finally rises on "V."
Director Hideo Kojima designed, directed, wrote, and produced the latest installment in the Metal Gear series.
The next-generation Metal Gear Solid has finally arrived, featuring a highly flexible and realistic infiltration concept, depicted in photorealistic visuals and a unique worldview!
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes serves as a prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, marking the beginning of the story.
The story is set in 1975, a few months after Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker (PSP game, released in 2010).
In addition to the main missions that form the core of the story, several side-missions are also included. It also features a trial element where you can compete in rankings, and is compatible with secondary devices such as smartphones and tablets.
As an introduction to the main game, this new system offers a thrilling, never-before-seen experience.
■STORY:
The year is 1975, and tensions in the Cold War are easing. The Vietnam War is drawing to a close.
Hidden off the coast of the Caribbean, there is an unaffiliated military force.
The commander of this force, nicknamed "Snake," takes on secret missions from around the world, increasing his military strength and eventually acquiring nuclear weapons.
Although word of this leak seems to have been leaked, the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) requests a nuclear inspection.
Not only is the country not a party to the NPT (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty), it is also not a nation, and the IAEA's intentions are questionable.
At the same time, Snake receives news.
Paz, a female agent who once fought Snake and whose whereabouts were unknown, is alive and is being interrogated at a U.S. military base on the southern tip of Cuba.
In the concession where the base is located, neither Cuban nor U.S. law applies. The interrogation she is undergoing appears to be extremely harsh.
Chico, a boy with a crush on Paz who has taken refuge with Snake's troops, learns of Paz's predicament and foolhardily sets out alone to rescue her.
Soon after, Snake receives a radio call from the captured Chico pleading for help.
With Mother Base preparing to welcome nuclear inspections, Snake heads to Cuba to rescue Paz and Chico.
However, this was the beginning of a disaster that would determine Snake's fate.
■ Deepened stealth action with a high degree of freedom, depicted with "photorealistic" visuals and a worldview
Feel the tension of enemy gazes from all angles. Infiltration and escape routes are up to the player. If necessary, call in a helicopter or use an abandoned car within the facility.
■ PlayStation 4/PlayStation 3 Special Mission
The Metal Gear Solid series continues to evolve with next-generation consoles and photorealistic graphics.

The "Déjà Vu Mission," which retraces those memories and the series' origins, will be included exclusively on the PlayStation 4/PlayStation 3 versions.
